"We encourage travelers to make their journeys more than just vacations; to reach beyond the beach and assist us in equipping the children of the Dominican Republic with the tools necessary for learning and living, dreaming and achieving; to empower the children to free themselves from the restraints of poverty & lack of opportunity, and decide their own futures."
"By the actions taken to reach beyond the beach, we strive to make our efforts redundant and totally unnecessary at some glorious future date. The happiest day of this foundation's life would be the one when our efforts are not needed in any way to assist the children of the Dominican Republic. Our own planned obsolescence is our ultimate vision."
This website evolved to reflect the wisdom and foresight of our Founding Directors and to serve the Vision and Mission of the Beyond The Beach Children’s Foundation in the Dominican Republic.
The office is located in Cabarete at the back of Plaza el Patio. The plaza is in the center of Cabarete across the street from the German Bakery and behind Banco Progeso. The office does NOT face the street. The office phone number is 809-571-0497 - just in case you want to phone them to check their hours.
If you do go to their office, they have a short form they ask you to fill out with the approximate value of your donation as they track statistics for their reports. Also, if you would indicate on the form you found out about the organization via Beyond The Beach Children's Foundation , it also indicates to them that we are spreading the word!
Any items for Mustard Seed can also be dropped off at the DREAM offices. They will make arrangments for pick up. Also, donations for Mustard Seed can be left Isaira Tours in Puerto Plata. We cannot have donations dropped at the home as it would be too disruptive to the people at the home. We hope that people understand that the home has to have a "routine" and we try to intrude as little as possible.
The phone # of Isaira Tours is 809-320-1433. They are in a plaza across from The Iberostar Costa Dorada.
Cabarete is a 10 minute drive from Sosua, 30 minutes from Playa Dorada, 45 minutes from Puerto Plata and 45 minutes from Rio San Juan. It is easy to reach Cabarete by taxi, rental car or public transportation.

The goals and purpose of Dominican Eyes Plus+
To deliver goods and services to the poorest of the poor such as:
“ The Mariposa DR Foundation was founded in 2009 by a group of caring volunteers and children who were inspired by past works, and the urgent need for community-based solutions to end poverty. Our mission is inspired by the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. These goals include eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality and empowering women, reducing the child mortality rate, improving maternal health, combating HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases, ensuring environmental sustainability, and developing a global partnership for development. Achieving these goals is dependent upon the education and empowerment of women and young girls.”
“SOSÚA KIDS helps poor children from the Sosúa area of the North Coast of the Dominican Republic to attend school in order to achieve their needs and aspirations and to help in the development of this beautiful and friendly country. Children in the Dominican Republic are entitled to attend school at no cost, but they must have full school uniforms, backpacks and school materials. Our primary purpose is to provide school uniforms for children who otherwise could not afford them or go to school. From small beginnings in the year 2000 we have now developed to the stage where in the year 2012/2013 we are supporting more than 478 pupils. SOSUA KIDS aims to support each child that it takes on until the completion of his or her school career.“
This is an orphanage in Santiago, Dominican Republic, that so greatly appreciates our assistance.
