Founding member of Beyond the Beach - attended the first Dominican Fiesta on July 24, 2004 in Blenheim, Ontario and haven't missed one since.
All of our travels to date have been to the Puerto Plata area. My husband & I have visited Mustard Seed Home (outside Puerto Plata), Dream Project (Cabarete) and met with several people involved with Sosua Kids. October 22, 2010 will be our first trip to Punta Cana.
We have a Dominican Goddaughter, Emelina, who was born September 9, 2005 - we picked her name at the request of her parents.
She has an older sister, Maria Celeste. We attended Emelinas christening on December 7, 2005 in the small town of Maimon.
The family lives in Los Canos de Maimon which we have visited often.

Gone but never forgotten
This Foundation was his Dream
It lives on in his Memory
Gregg started his travels to the Dominican Republic in 2001 when he and his wife, Giselle, visited Puerto Plata for a two week stay. They quickly fell in love with the country and its children, and continued returning each year. He did not realize at that time that this would be the start of a dream to help the underprivileged children of the Dominican Republic. Eventually, he became involved as a member and Director of Beyond the Beach Childrens Foundation, along with several other dedicated people who shared this dream. Over the years his passion to help these children led him to be involved in several local charities such as Mustard Seed, Dream Project and Sosua Kids on the North Coast through the Foundation. He eventually furthered that dream to the East Coast in the Punta Cana area.
Gregg was also involved in the annual Dominican Fiesta which began 2004 in Blenheim, Ontario and was fortunate to attend each year until his untimely death in 2010. Gregg will always be remembered as the guy who brought over 200 jerseys for the childrens ball teams in Punta Cana. In essence, Greggs dream was to see the less fortunate children have a true smile on their faces and to bring a little joy to their life.

Annette and I first visited the Dom Rep in February 2002, a 9 hour flight from the UK, and fell in love with the place and the people. We took a bag of gifts (pencils etc.) and thought we were doing well but soon realised how much need there was. On our trip in 2004 we linked up with Dream Project and the year after with Mustard Seed. Our Church, our local school and our friends continue to enable us to help through Beyond the Beach.

We are from the Ottawa area living across the river in Chelsea Quebec. Have been married to my loving husband for 29 years and we have 3 wonderful grown boys.
My husband and I have been travelling to the DR since 1998 and immediately fell in love with the people and their country.
We later joined Debbies forums where we met most of the Directors from BTBCF to later join BTB to help in their yearly Fiesta fund raising ( we missed 2 ) event for the unprivileged KIDS who live in the Republic Dominican.
We continue to travel to the country frequently and are always willing to help somehow.
One of our special projects is to always go visit the boys and caretakers at the Orphanage in Higuey we like to help them however we can, such as painting, shopping, repairs etc.

I first travelled to the Dominican Republic in 1989 and fell in love with the North Coast and have been going back almost yearly ever since. In 2005 we travelled to Punta Canna and now prefer the beautiful beaches it has to offer .In fact I married my best friend Cathy there in 2011. I have gotten to know most of the Beyond the Beach Directors and committee members and after many years of wanting to, we attended our first Fiesta in 2010 We were so impressed we agreed to host the Fiesta in 2011. I look forward to helping the foundation raise much needed money for the children of the Dominican Republic.
